Novitec Group’s Tridente brand has released a tuning program for the Maserati Ghibli.
The big news is the tuned engine lineup for the Italian premium sedan. Starting with the diesel, the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine has received the N-Tronic performance module that boosts the power with 47 PS (35 kW) to a total of 322 PS (237 kW) at 3,800 rpm and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque at 2,200 rpm. The company says thanks to the upgrade the car “delivers even better performance in concert with the eight-speed automatic transmission”. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint now takes 5.6 seconds, which is 0.7 seconds faster than the standard model.
The engine tuning is also available for the rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive Ghibli models powered by the V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine. They are equipped with the N-Tronic auxiliary control unit with recalibrated mapping for injection and ignition plus a moderate increase in boost pressure.
The most powerful models, the Ghibli S and the Ghibli S Q4, have been tuned to 476 PS (350 kW) and 640 Nm of torque, constantly available between 1,700 and 4,900 rpm. The AWD variant sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds, while top speed has been increased from 284 km/h (176 mph) to 294 km/h (182 mph).
In terms of design, the Ghibli has gained a new set of “king-sized” 22-inch alloys offered for 3,980 EUR (4,985 USD). The tuning company explains customers can choose from wheels with a silver, matt black, titanium or polished titanium finish. The model has also received a body kit that consists of a new front spoiler, a rear spoiler and rocker panels, all available for 3,120 EUR (3,907 USD).
