The Mercedes-Benz GLK/GLC 63 AMG prototype has made a comeback in a second batch of spy pics.
The GLK is about to reach second generation which will not only bring a very different styling, it will also inaugurate the AMG version spotted here during preliminary testing. Although it's not that easy to notice, the vehicle is a bit wider than the regular second-gen GLK prototypes previously spotted and it's also lower which indicates the implementation of a sportier suspension.
The identity of the engine has not been disclosed yet but most likely it's the new V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo from the AMG GT (462 & 510 HP) and C63 AMG (476 & 510 HP) but probably with a slightly lower output sent to the wheels via a an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed sports transmission.
Losing the boxy shape, the second generation GLK will reportedly get the GLC moniker and will be engineered for right-hand drive markets. It's set to go on sale in the second half of 2015 and will be followed by a GLC "Coupe" and then by the AMG derivative.
