According to reports out of the United Kingdom, Jaguar Land Rover is in talks to build a plant in the United States.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the Sunday Times is reporting the company looking at locating the plant in several different southern states including South Carolina.

Little is known about the plant itself but it will reportedly produce up to 200,000 vehicles annually and enable the automaker to avoid costly import tariffs.

When asked for comment, a JLR spokesperson told Automotive News Europe "[The company] is looking at how it can expand its footprint globally and there are various options on the table." That's not exactly a confirmation but it isn't much of a denial either.
