Most people don't give too much thought about their owner's manual but that hasn't stopped McLaren from celebrating the unique book that accompanied the iconic F1.

In the clip, McLaren Design Operations Manager Mark Roberts recalls his experience illustrating the owner's manual. While this doesn't sound too exciting in a world where manuals are being replaced by CDs and iPads, Roberts says the company "actively encouraged [them] to make it more and more special" and result speaks for itself.

Roberts also reveals the car has hitting a top speed of 231 mph (371 km/h) during testing, so he worked that figure into all the sketches of the instrument cluster. He also says the graphic for the CD auto-changer has a bit of an Easter egg as it shows Bob Dylan's Street Legal.
