Following an announcement made at the end of last year, Skoda has released several images with a camouflaged Fabia R5 which will start competing next year.

The Czech marque is about to replace the successful Fabia S2000 with the Fabia R5 which will be based on the road-going version of the supermini that was unveiled recently at the Paris Motor Show in both hatchback and wagon versions.

The prototype being showcased in these preview images wears a significantly wider body with flared wheel arches, roof scoop, vented hood, rear wing, centrally-positioned exhaust pipe and a jacked up suspension matched with rally-spec wheels.

Skoda estimates the new Fabia R5 will be ready to rally by mid-2015.
