Jay Leno is returning to television as CNBC has announced the former Tonight Show host will have a new series on the business-centric network.

The show is tentatively titled Jay Leno's Garage and will celebrate its primetime debut sometime next year. The program will follow in the footsteps of the similarly named YouTube series - which has more than a million subscribers and more than 105 million views - and will feature everything from road tests to restoration projects.

In a statement, Leno said "This show will be about anything that rolls, explodes, and makes noise. We hope to highlight the passion and the stories behind the men and women who made the automobile the greatest invention of the 20th century."
