Hennessey Performance has unveiled its tuning program for the 2015 Ford Mustang.
The tuning company from Texas has equipped the vehicle with a carbon fiber bodywork that includes new bumpers, side skirts and a small boot lid spoiler. A set of lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels and a rear diffuser have also been added.
The standard Mustang GT 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 420 bhp (313 kW) has been heavily modified and now generates 717 bhp (535 kW) and 856 Nm (632 lb-ft) of torque. This huge power boost comes thanks to a new supercharger, a new stainless steel exhaust system, uprated fuel injectors and pumps and ECU update.
The nearly 300 bhp (224 kW) jump over the standard model results in a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 3.6 seconds, while there’s still no word about top speed. Hennessey says the quarter-mile run takes 11.2 seconds at 131 mph (210 km/h).
According to the tuning company, production will be limited to 500 examples with prices starting at 59,500 USD (47,200 EUR) including the cost of the base car. What’s more, a “high performance upgrade program” for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost variant is already in the plans.
