Kia has released some new details about the Euro-spec Sorento.

Set to debut at the Paris Motor Show, the redesigned model has a stylish exterior with a "tiger-nose" grille which is flanked by sweptback headlights. The crossover also has plastic body cladding, a gently sloping roofline and plenty of chrome trim.

The crossover's increased size pays dividends in the interior as there's plenty of room for up to seven passengers. The cabin also boasts higher quality materials and modern amenities.

Under the hood, three different engines will be available. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol produces 188 PS (138 kW) and 241 Nm (178 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.4 seconds before topping out at 202 km/h (125 mph). When equipped with the optional six-speed automatic transmission, those numbers are less impressive as the dash to 100 km/h takes 10.5 seconds and the top speed is just 195 km/h (121 mph).

The entry-level diesel engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit that produces 185 PS (136 kW) and 402 Nm (297 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission which allows the crossover to run from 0-100 km/h in 10.4 seconds before topping out at 200 km/h (124 mph).

Last but not least, there's a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with 200 PS (147 kW) and 441 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the model runs from 0-100 km/h in nine seconds (9.6 seconds with the six-speed automatic) and has a top speed of 203 km/h (126 mph).
