The Lotus Evora is getting a reprieve as the company has confirmed the model will only be absent for one year in the United States.

In a statement, the company confirmed they won't offer a 2015 Evora in the United States because the car doesn't comply with smart airbag regulations. However, Lotus said the model will return in 2016 and be fully compliant with U.S. regulations.

While the model will take a short hiatus, dealers don't sound too worried. As one told Automotive News, they'll have enough 2014 Evoras to last them until the 2016 model arrives.
