The British Empire continues to crumble but that hasn't stopped Land Rover from paying tribute to Queen and country with the new Evoque SW1 special edition.

Set to debut at the Paris Motor Show, the Evoque SW1 is being billed as the "first in a series of 'Inspired by Britain' special editions from Jaguar Land Rover."

Based on the Evoque Dynamic, the Evoque SW1 features a Firenze Red, Fuji White, Loire Blue, Santorini Black or Corris Grey exterior with a Fuji white roof and 20-inch alloy wheels with a Fuji white finish. The model also has white body stripes and Union Jack graphics on the mirrors and rear spoiler.

Interior changes are limited but the model comes nicely equipped with Taurus Ebony leather upholstery, Cirrus contrast stitching and anodized red accents. The crossover also has a unique gear knob (manual models only), special sill plates and unique floor mats.

There will also be a Monochrome variant that is based on the Evoque Pure and features monotone Union Jack graphics.

The Evoque SW1 will go on sale globally in mid-October and pricing will be announced closer to launch.

Besides announcing the special edition, Land Rover revealed Evoque can now be ordered with a laser head-up display. The company says the system resists "washout" from sunlight and delivers "superior color saturation, brightness and contrast compared to rival systems."
