BMW Board Member Peter Schwarzenbauer has revealed the company is still considering a production version of the Superleggera concept.

Speaking to Reuters, Schwarzenbauer said the company is still evaluating the model and a decision is at least six months away. That seems like a long time but Schwarzenbauer said to "To really investigate seriously ... you look into several different options, you come to the question: do we produce it ourselves, do we give it to somebody else."

The executive also revealed the company is still trying to determine how many models they should have in their lineup. Schwarzenbauer said the leading choices are either five or ten models but he personally favors the smaller number.

Of course, MINI is already working a handful of redesigned models including the Clubman, Countryman and Cooper Convertible. They will eventually join the new Cooper and Cooper five-door hatchback.
