Scion has announced the limited FR-S Release Series 1.0 is now available on order at a starting price of $29,990.

Introduced in April at the New York Auto Show, Scion's limited-run FR-S Release Series 1.0 comes with several goodies provided by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and will be offered in 1,500 examples. On the outside it can be distinguished by a custom aerodynamic body kit including side fender garnish and a different rear spoiler, along with four exhaust pipes and lowering springs. It's wearing a striking Yuzu exterior paint scheme and has received HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights.

Step inside the cabin and you'll notice a TRD steering wheel & shift knob, black seats which have a T-pattern, bespoke cargo mat, smart key (with push button start), dual-zone climate control system and individually-numbered badge inlayed on a brushed aluminum shifter surround plate.

Power comes from the familiar four-cylinder, 2.0-liter boxer engine rated at 200 bhp (149 kW) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) sent to the road via a six-speed manual gearbox. There's also an optional six-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management technology increasing the car's price tag to $31,090, with both prices excluding a $700 processing & handling fee.
