The jointly-developed Toyota RAV4 EV was a bit of a dud but Tesla CEO Elon Musk is confident that the two companies will continue to work together.

Musk declined to go into specifics but hinted the companies could join forces on a “significant” project in the next two or three years. While he said there are no concrete plans for a jointly-developed vehicle, he suggested the companies could build an all-new model with significantly higher volumes than the Toyota RAV4 EV.

It remains unclear if Toyota and Tesla are actually talking about a new project but Toyota spokesman Dion Corbett told Automotive News they have “nothing to say” about Musk's statements.
