BMW has released a fresh promotional video for the limited-run M5 "30 Jahre M5" special edition.

This isn't just a special M5 with some minor tweaks as the 30 Jahre M5 is actually BMW's most powerful production model ever and will be limited to 300 units. It packs a mighty 600 PS (441 kW) & 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) punch which makes it 40 PS (29 kW) and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) stronger than the regular M5. The added oomph was possible by increasing the charge pressure and installing a new management system on the twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter while the M Dynamic Mode has been reprogrammed.

As you would expect, the high-powered sedan is now quicker as it does the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in just 3.9 seconds with the standard 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox so it's 0.4 seconds faster than before. We remind you this particular M5 is far from being a light car as it tips the scales at a rather hefty 1,870 kg (4,123 lbs).

BMW has decided to limit this M5's top speed to 155 mph (250 km/h) but at an additional cost the vehicle can be configured with an M Driver's Package (which should have been standard) lifting the electronic limiter to 190 mph (305 km/h). Compared to the regular M5, the "30 Jahre M5" special edition has a 10mm lowered suspension, bi-color 20-inch rims and stiffer anti-sway bars.

If 600 PS still isn't enough, you might want to wait for the next-gen BMW M5 which will reportedly get 626 PS (460 kW) and an optional AWD system.
