The BMW 2-series Active Tourer will hit UK dealerships this month, so the Bavarian automaker has released a slew of new photos and a brand new video ahead of the launch.

Designed to give the occupants a higher seating position compared to its standard 2-series sibling, the Active Tourer offers plenty of space for 5 passengers. It has a length of 4342mm, a height of 1555mm and a width of 1800mm that allow a possible luggage capacity of 1,510 liters with the rear seats folded down.

The right hand drive version will will come with a choice of 2 engines. The entry level 218i SE carries a base price of £22,150 and comes with an all-new three-cylinder engine packing 136hp and 220 NM of torque. The turbocharged diesel unit in the 218d SE gets a slightly elevated base price of £24,205 and produces 150hp and 330NM of torque.

At launch power will be passed to the wheels exclusively by a newly developed front-wheel-drive system but it will be joined by the all-wheel-drive xDrive system later this year. The 220i, 216d, 220d and 220d xDrive Active Tourer are also set to join the range in November.
