Lamborghini has been on roll lately but a new report is indicating the Urus concept still hasn't been approved for production.

Speaking to reporters last weekend in Japan, Lamborghini Research & Development Director Maurizio Reggiani said "[The]Urus is still not confirmed for the brand." He added "We still wait final approval from the [Volkswagen] group, and we are continuing to work for that approval."

While the model is still awaiting the green light, Reggiani is optimistic that it will be approved and go into production by the end of 2017. The executive also hinted the model will cost about as much as the Huracan.

Lamborghini has been coy on specifications but previous reports have suggested the crossover could be equipped with an Audi-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. There have also been rumors about a hybrid variant which could produce up to 680 PS (500 kW).
