The first spy shots showing Skoda's third generation Fabia Combi have arrived at our office.

After seeing the third-gen Fabia hatchback in a preliminary set of official images, now time has come to take a look at the first batch of spy pictures with the more practical wagon derivative. We won't dwell too much on the design since it's carried over from the hatch, with the obvious exception of the rear where there's a longer overhang to accommodate a more spacious trunk.

The outgoing Skoda Fabia Combi offers an already generous (for this segment) cargo capacity of 505 liters but that number will grow to around 520 liters with the seats up. We base this assumption on the fact that the hatchback's trunk size has increased by 15 liters to 330 liters. The old Fabia Combi has a 1,485-liter luggage compartment if you fold down the rear seats so expect that third-gen model to hit the 1,500-liter mark.

Rumored to be half based on Volkswagen Group's MQB platform, the 2015 Skoda Fabia will feature a more than familiar interior cabin boasting up to seventeen Simply Clever features. One important feature is the adoption of MirrorLink technology which gives users the possibility to control their smartphone apps right from the touchscreen display available on upper-spec models.

Skoda probably won't wait too long to show us the Fabia Combi so we could see it in the next couple of months, possibly in October at the Paris Motor Show.
