We've already heard rumors that Volvo was considering additional Polestar variants but now it appears the V40 and XC60 are the most likely candidates.
While initial reports suggested the V40 Polestar was done deal, Volvo powertrain and motorsport guru Derek Crabb said that isn't the case. As he explained, "If you ask each of the individual markets which [Polestar] they want, some will say V40, some will say XC60, some will say S60."
While we still don't know which model will get the Polestar treatment next, Crabb said it will feature a high-performance four-cylinder engine instead of the turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder that powers today's S60 and V60 Polestar. Crabb didn't go into specifics but hinted the four-cylinder engine will offer similar performance to the outgoing inline-six.
