General Motor's Executive Vice President of Global Product Development has revealed some new details about the highly-anticipated Cadillac flagship.

Speaking to students at University of Detroit-Mercy, Mark Reuss said "This is a car that Cadillac needs, that will define its brand in terms of innovation and excellence." The executive went on to say the model needs to be a "symbol of excellence."

Cadillac is keeping coy on specifics but the model is expected to ride on the new Omega platform and be offeredwith a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 and an optional V8 engine. Previous spy photos haven't shown much but insiders have said the car will have a design that is "somewhere between the CTS and the Elmiraj [concept]."
