The entry-level crossover segment is booming but Subaru has apparently ruled out a competitor to the Jeep Renegade and Nissan Juke.

According to company insiders who talked to Auto Express, Subaru doesn't have enough money to develop the model. To further complicate things, the company would reportedly have to develop an all-new platform and a range of small displacement turbocharged engines for use in the crossover.

Last but not least, Subaru believes the model would appeal primarily to Europeans which makes them cautious as their sales there are stagnant.
