Fiat has introduced in India the Punto Evo facelift, an updated version of a model which is now nine years old.

Meet the first car in the world to come equipped with "reindeer" headlights although these look quite similar to those fitted onto the second generation Kia cee'd. The current generation Punto has been on the market since way back in 2005 but Fiat is still releasing facelifts rather than coming out with an all-new model.

The makeover prepared for the Indian market is quite comprehensive as the vehicle has received redesigned front and rear fascia which although don't look necessarily bad, these have affected the Punto's character. The interior cabin has been carried over from the Linea with minor tweaks and those who opt for the range-topping version will also get an AC rear vent.

Two gasoline engines are available, a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder with 68 PS (50 kW) and a 1.4-liter with 90 PS (66 kW) while on the diesel side we find two 1.3-liter four-cylinder units delivering 76 PS (56 kW) and 93 PS (68 kW). All engines come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and depending on version the Punto Evo facelift can get 14- to 16-inch wheels.

Other goodies worth mentioning include electrically adjustable mirrors, front & rear power windows, tilt steering, 60:40 folding rear seat and trip computer. On the safety side, there are dual front airbags and ABS with electronic brake force distribution.

Sales of the Fiat Punto Evo facelift will kick off in India in the following period.
