According to a recent report, the next generation Buick Regal will be introduced in 2017.

Automotive News says in 2017 the sporty sedan will get its first major update since the nameplate returned to the Buick lineup in early 2010. The model will continue to be a rebadged Opel/Vauxhall Insignia.

General Motors will reportedly build the Regal in its Russelsheim factory in Germany and import it in the USA. AE quotes an official statement from Opel about its assembly plant, put out in March: “The Russelsheim plant has been chosen for the assembly of a future model which will be sold in the US under the Buick brand name in the second half of the decade”.

The Regal is currently produced in GM’s Oshawa, Ontario, plant, along with the Chevrolet Camaro, the Cadillac XTS and the Chevrolet Impala.
