Scions lineup has largely been untouched other than the addition of the FR-S but new details are starting to emerge about what we can expect in the future.

According to Automotive News, the xB will be dropped next spring and be replaced by a version of the Toyota Auris. The xD is also expected to be axed in mid-2015 and be replaced by a sedan version of the Mazda2 that will be built in Mexico.

Scion's sporty models are expected to survive as a redesigned tC is slated for early 2016. There's also word on a new FR-S coupe which could arrive in the spring of 2017.

Interestingly, the company could offer an entry-level crossover based on the Auris. This could explain the Auris-based prototypes we have seen at the Nurburgring and other places. If Automotive News is correct, the Scion variant could be launched in 2016 or 2017.

Last but not least, the slow selling Scion iQ is expected to head for the automotive graveyard later this year.
