Development work continues of the 2015 / 2016 Mercedes M-Class as our spies have caught the model in Nevada.

Snapped during a break from hot weather testing in Death Valley, the facelifted crossover is instantly recognizable as only the front end receives some changes. Speaking of which, we can see a two-bar grille that is flanked by new headlights that resemble the ones used on the C- and S-Class. The front bumper is also new as it boasts larger air intakes and an awkward 'smile'.

Despite the déjà vu exterior design, the cabin will be upgraded with a freestanding infotainment system and other minor modifications.

Engine options are expected to include the usual suspects but there have been rumors about an eco-friendly four-cylinder diesel, a new twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 and a new plug-in hybrid variant.
