Lancia is just a shell of its former self but a new report is indicating the brand could be rejuvenated.

Citing an undisclosed Turin-based newspaper, Autoedizione is reporting Lancia will only play a diminished role in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for a short period of time.

There's no word on specifics but it appears the company wants to focus on turning around Alfa Romeo first. The brand is also heavily reliant on sales in Italy so there is a belief that the company wants the Italian economy to improve before embarking on a turnaround plan.

While FCA has been relatively quiet about Lancia's long-term future, Sergio Marchionne has previous said it will become an Italian-only brand that will only sell the Ypsilon.
