Bentley and Vertu has announced plans to produce a series of luxury smartphones.
The first phone will be released in October and it will be followed by four further models that "encompass authentic and iconic Bentley design elements." Additional information is limited but the company said the phones will have "unparalleled design, craftsmanship, contemporary elegance, outstanding performance and integrated technology."
Despite Bentley's bold claims, Vertu has been known to make some wildly overpriced and underpowered smartphones such as the Constellation which comes with an outdated version of Android and a ho-hum 1.7 GHz dual-core processor.
Regardless, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer remarked "Bentley’s new partnership with Vertu brings together two world-leading brands defined by their commitment to performance, luxury and customer experience. The collaboration expands Bentley’s luxury range into the cutting-edge world of mobile communications and offers customers a new way to experience the world of Bentley."
