The mid-size MG6 was unveiled back in April 2009 at the Shanghai Auto Show and now the model is about to receive a mid-cycle facelift that will include slightly revised headlights and updated headlights carrying a bigger MG logo. Other noticeable changes include the restyled rear bumper (with faux vents) together with tweaked taillights and a different trunk lid.

Engine lineup will likely be carried over so expect a 1.8-liter with 133 bhp (99 kW) and a turbocharged variant delivering 160 bhp (119 kW). The UK-spec variant also has a 1.9-liter DTi-TECH turbodiesel 4-cylinder rated at 148 bhp (110 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

An official launch will likely occur in September at the Chengdu Auto Show, with sales to commence in China in the fourth quarter of the year.
