Mazda has announced the all-new MX-5 will be revealed on September 4.
After showing the car's new chassis back in April at the New York Auto Show, Mazda is almost ready to introduce the 2015 MX-5 which will be presented simultaneously in Japan, United States and Europe on September 4.
No further details were released but we already know the new Miata is going to be at least 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter while packing more punch than the current model. It will also come with a lower center of gravity as well as an increased body rigidity which will make it safer in case of a crash.
Fitted with a SKYACTIV-CHASSIS, the 2015 MX-5 is set to become a "remarkable production car" and will also spawn an Alfa Romeo Spider model as well as another possible Mazda-badged rear-wheel drive car to help spread development costs.
