Jaguar has started the testing procedures of an even more powerful "RS" version of the F-Type which as seen in this spy video will be offered in both coupe and roadster body styles. The most powerful F-Type on sale today is the R with 550 PS (404 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) generated by the supercharged V8 5.0-liter engine which will likely be uprated to 575 PS (423 kW) as seen in the F-Type Project 7.

Chances are the R's optional carbon ceramic matrix brakes will be standard on the RS while the engine's output will be channeled to the rear wheels through an eight-speed, close-ratio Quickshift gearbox with full manual sequential control. The 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) will definitely take less than the 4 seconds needed by the R and the top speed could go beyond the electronically-capped 186 mph (300 km/h) of the R.

If that doesn't sound impressive enough, there are talks of a flagship RS GT version with no less than 700 PS (515 kW) combined possibly with a lower curb weight. This model is expected to hit more than 200 mph (322 km/h) and will probably be offered as a limited edition model, just like Jaguar did with the XKR-S GT.
