Detroit Electric has released the first picture of their SP:01 prototype undergoing a final round of "dynamic testing."

The company declined to release details but confirmed the SP:01 will be built in Europe. Additional information will be released in the "coming weeks" but the model will be based on the Lotus Exige and feature a mid-mounted electric motor that produces 201 bhp (150 kW) and 166 lb-ft (225 Nm) of torque. This should enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

When the car was announced last year, Detroit Electric said production would be limited to 999 units and pricing would start at $135,000.
