Australia's Wheels Magazine had the opportunity to play around with the limited-run 2014 FPV GT F.

It's the end of an era for Australia's automotive industry as the GT F represents the final product coming from Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV). Only 500 units of the most powerful ever Falcon are destined for the Land Down Under and only a few are still on sale for those willing to pay the 77,990 AUD starting price.

Wheels Magazine had the chance to test the first production FPV GT F, allowing us to hear the grunt provided by a supercharged V8 5.0-liter engine delivering 477 PS (351 kW). The vehicle features an overboost function which increases output of the engine to around 549 PS (404 kW), available at all times during lower temperatures and for 15-20 seconds on hot days.

Aside from infusing more power, FPV's engineers took the GT RSPEC's suspension setup and also mounted 19-inch rims wrapped around in 275/35 R19 Dunlop Sport Maxx. While the interior looks quite dated, it does pack a nice gimmick in the form of a G-force sensor available as standard equipment.

Deliveries of the 2014 FPV GT F will commence in the months to come, together with the Limited Edition Pursuit Ute of which only 120 units are being built.
