Independent designer Remco Meulendijk from The Netherlands has created a potential look for the Audi RS1 Sportback.

Audi launched the S1 / S1 Sportback only a few months ago so it would be too early to talk about a range-topping RS1 version. However, S1's designer Frank Gruner recently responded with "wait and see" when asked about whether he is currently drawing the RS1. Although the attached renders don't come from Ingolstadt, chances are the real deal will look a lot like this since Audi is known not to fiddle around too much with designs, regardless if it's for a standard model or a hot RS product.

When it will be launched, output will probably be provided by the familiar 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine which should pack significantly more power than in the S1 where it churns 231 PS (170 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft). Output will be delivered to a quattro all-wheel drive arrangement which should enable the pocket rocket to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 5 seconds taking into account the S1 does it in 5.8 before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h).

Expect a considerable premium over the S1 Sportback's 30,800 EUR price tag in Germany. It could turn out to be a limited-run production model just like they did with the A1 quattro which was built in only 333 examples.
