According to reports out of Japan, Toyota's fuel cell vehicle will go into production ahead of schedule.

Citing sources close to the company, The Japan Times is reporting the model will go into production in December and be launched later this year. Unsurprisingly, production will be limited as the publication says Toyota will only build a few dozen every month.

If everything pans out, the model will cost approximately ¥8 million ($78,025 / €57,425) but that price could drop to ¥3-5 million ($29,259-48,766 / €21,528-35,884) as the company ramps up production in the coming years.

Toyota has remained relatively quiet about the model but they have previously confirmed it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately 10 seconds and travel roughly 300 miles (482 km) on a single fill up.
