Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed the previous-generation Roadster will be given an update later this year.

Speaking at yesterday's shareholder meeting, Musk said "We're going to do something cool with the roadster later this year." He declined to elaborate but speculation suggests the car will be given some sort of software upgrade that could improve its performance or battery life.

If that doesn't float your eco-friendly electric boat, you're out of luck as Musk said an all-new Roadster is at least five years off as the company is focused on launching their entry-level sedan and Model X first.
