Mazda has announced all 100 units of the MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition were sold in just ten minutes.

Even though the all-new Miata is right around the corner, the 25th Anniversary Edition based on the outgoing model was an instant hit as Mazda managed to sell all 100 cars in only ten minutes. On Tuesday the company opened up a pre-order website which they wanted to keep running until the end of the month. It wasn't the case since in just ten minutes no less than 250 people signed up for the car, willing to pay the 32,205 USD price tag which is significantly higher than the standard model listed at 28,665 USD.

The limited-run Miata is based on the Power Retractable Hard Top (PRHT) model and features a unique Soul Red Metallic paint mixed with black A-pillars, roof and mirrors. It has received "hand-selected" pistons, connecting rods and flywheel as well as gunmetal 17-inch rims shod in 205/45R17-84W Bridgestone Potenza RE05A tires.

Inside the cabin it boasts Almond leather upholstery and door trim, stainless steel door scuff plates, a hand-finished decorative panel, as well as aluminum pedals and "25th Anniversary Edition" badging etched into the leather headrests.

Deliveries of the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition will kick off in the second half of the year.
