Yacht design studio Claydon Reeves has announced plans to preview their Rolls-Royce powered Aeroboat at the Salute to Style event in July.

Drawing inspiration from the Spitfire fighter plane, the Aeroboat is a high-performance speed boat which is distinctively British. It will be constructed from carbon fiber, Kevlar and lightweight wood veneer. The model will also have an authentic air intake scoop, aircraft-inspired controls and shock-mounted seats which are a "nod to the Spitfire’s own landing gear."

Power comes from a fully reconditioned and documented Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine which has been detuned to produce 1,100 bhp (820 kW). This will reportedly give the boat a top speed of 75 - 95 knots.

Production will be limited to 12 units and each model will be built to order.
