Mazda's US division has announced pricing details for the limited-run MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition which was introduced last month at the New York Auto Show.

The current generation Miata is at the end of its lifecycle but Mazda decided there is still room to celebrate the model's 25th anniversary through a special hard top edition which in the United States will cost 32,205 USD. Only 100 units will make it stateside and those who are interested must sign for a pre-order program that will be available until May 31 or when 250 clients will register.

All cars are going to wear a bespoke Soul Red Metallic body paint combined with black mirrors, A-pillars and roof. It sits on 17-inch gunmetal alloy wheels wrapped around in Bridgestone Potenza RE05A tires measuring 205/45R17-84W. Mazda's engineers have "hand-selected" the pistons, connecting rods and flywheel to create an engine which "revs more freely with extraordinary response and acceleration."

On the inside there's Almond leather upholstery and door trim, aluminum pedals, hand-finished decorative panel and "25th Anniversary Edition" badging etched into the leather headrests and stainless steel door scuff plates.

In related news, Mazda has also announced the standard MX-5 kicks off at 23,970 USD for the soft top and 28,665 USD for the Power Retractable Hard Top (PRHT) version.
