The owner of a Donkervoort D8 GTO crashed his Audi-powered track toy in Switzerland just one day after purchasing it.

According to local media, the driver exited a corner at a high speed and lost control of the vehicle which crossed over onto the opposite lane. It then frontally collided with a previous generation Mazda3 hatchback but the two drivers managed to get out without suffering any injuries.

We remind you the Dutch-made D8 GTO received European Small Series Type Approval last year and is fitted with an Audi-sourced 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged engine outputting 400 PS (294 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque. It tips the scales at just 750 kg (1,653 lbs) and needs only three seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) before topping out at 158 mph (255 km/h).
