The Chevrolet SS is only available in one trim level with two options but that could soon be changing as Motor Trend is reporting the 2015 model will gain some new options to appeal to enthusiasts.

While there's still no word on the high-performance variant, the magazine is reporting the 2015 SS will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission. This change could enable the 415 bhp (310 kW) sedan to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 4.6 seconds.

Besides gaining a proper gearbox, the 2015 SS could also be offered with the company's magnetic ride control system.  This should improve the model's ride and handling characteristics.

If everything pans out, the 2015 model could go on sale in the United States this summer.
