Ford has introduced today at Beijing Motor Show the production-ready Escort designed specifically for the Chinese market.

It takes a keen eye to spot the differences between last year's concept and the car which will be manufactured by the Changan Ford joint venture. The vehicle was actually designed in Australia and the team obviously got its inspiration from the Fiesta, Focus and Fusion models as it packs an Aston Martin-like front grille and very familiar headlights.

Ford will offer the Escort reboot exclusively with a 4-cylinder, 1.5-liter Ti-VCT gasoline engine promising to provide "smooth power delivery and high efficiency." On the inside there are six airbags and a Device Dock placed on the center console offering support for mounting and charging various electronics such as smartphones and MP3 players. Connect Radio is also on board and allows drivers to link their smartphone to the car's infotainment system via Bluetooth connectivity.

Additional details can be found in the attached press release.
