Audi has decided to bring back the five-door A3 Sportback in United States just in time for the New York Auto Show.

Due to "an outpouring of enthusiasts' support", Audi will bring back the A3 Sportback in United States in the summer of 2015 but bear in mind it will be available exclusively with a diesel engine. It will be a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel also found in the facelifted Jetta where it develops 150 bhp (112 kW)  and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque.

In the five-door A3, the turbodiesel engine will be coupled to a six-speed S tronic gearbox and although Audi hasn't released fuel consumption figures, these should be similar to those of the aforementioned 2015 Jetta which returns 32 mpg city / 45 highway / 37 combined.

While the A3 TDI Sportback will be out in 2015, those who are interested in getting the sedan version with the same engine won't have to wait that long as Audi will be launching it later this year.
