Several Fiat employees from two Italian factories got their cars wrapped around in large plastic bags.

Fiat's marketing department thought of an ingenious way to try persuading employees to sell their foreign cars and buy vehicles built with their own hands. This action is part of a promotional campaign trying to entice Fiat workers from the Mirafiori and Pomigliano factories to benefit from the special discounts applicable for several models.

Fiat's workers benefit depending on the model from a 12 to 26 percent employee discount and now can take advantage of an additional 1,000 EUR discount if they replace their foreign cars with a model manufactured within the Fiat group.

While some employees were amused, others appeared to be irritated when seeing their cars sitting in the parking lot wrapped in huge plastic bags. A Fiat spokesman motivated this action by saying "we decided we want to do everything possible to promote sales any way we can."
