Mercedes is putting the finishing touches on the 2015 C-Class Estate as our spies have caught a lightly camouflaged prototype undergoing testing in Germany.

Set to be introduced later this year, the C-Class Estate follows in the footsteps of the sedan and features an S-Class inspired front fascia and flowing body work. The real changes occur aft of the B-pillar as the wagon has longer rear doors, a sloping roofline and an accommodating cargo compartment.

Engine options will carryover from the standard model so expect a variety of four- and six-cylinder units including:

  • A 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel with outputs of 115 PS (85 kW) and 136 PS (100 kW)
  • A 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel with 170 PS (125 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol with 156 PS (115 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with 184 PS (135 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque
