A completely undisguised prototype of the Citroën DS X7 was spotted somewhere in China ahead of next week's official reveal.

It was only on Tuesday when Citroën released a teaser image for the DS X7 and now the China-only SUV has been caught on camera without any camouflage. The model was previewed by the Wild Rubis concept and seems to have borrowed the front fascia from the DS 5LS, another China-only model. It will actually use the same platform as the sedan and according to the French marque it will "marry power and refinement."

The DS X7 will be produced by the Changan-PSA joint venture in China and is expected to feature a turbo four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine with 163 bhp (121 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) along with a more powerful variant of the same engine rated at 200 bhp (149 kW) and 275 Nm (202 lb-ft). The base model will likely be offered with a 1.8-liter naturally-aspirated motor generating 139 bhp (103 kW) and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft),

Set to be unveiled next Sunday at Beijing Motor Show, the Citroën DS X7 will have a starting price of around 160,000 yuan (25,800 USD).
