Lord Hesketh’s first grand prix racing car is going up for sale on the 10th of May. This is James Hunt’s Formula 1 car from 1974, which is going under the hammer at an RM Auctions event during the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.
The playboy Hunt’s Hesketh 308 is powered by a 485 bhp (361 kW), 2993cc DOHC dry-sump Cosworth DFV 90-degree V8 engine with a Lucas-metered fuel injection. The racing car is also equipped with a Hewland FGA/400 five-speed manual transaxle, rack-and-pinion steering, front and rear wishbone independent suspension with coil springs and four-wheel four-piston ventilated disc brakes.
The perfectly restored Hesketh 308 is expected to fetch no less than 600,000 EUR ($830,000).
