A Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, V8 Supercar and a Red Bull F1 car raced at the Melbourne circuit before this year's Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The contenders were an outgoing Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG driven by Mick Doohan, a V8 Supercar controlled by Steven Richards and a Red Bull RB7 (from 2011 season) handled by David Coulthard. The first to take off was the C63 AMG followed roughly 24 seconds later by the V8 Supercar and by another 22 seconds by the Red Bull.

As you would imagine, despite starting last David Coulthard was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 1 minute and 41.2 seconds, followed by the V8 Supercar which lapped the circuit in 2 minutes and 4 seconds while the C63 AMG did it in 2 minutes and 27.9 seconds. Although the Red Bull won, the time was far from being impressive but it is understandable taking into account the car was equipped with demo tires and most likely lacked DRS and KERS.
