Unveiled in Frankfurt 2005 and on the market since early 2006, it's hard to believe the current W221 S-Class is already approaching its mid-life cycle refreshing. As a result, spy photographers have caught the S-Class AMG facelift on the road in the American desert performing hot weather testing.

Along with the regular S-class, the AMG version will undergo a modest refresh, getting a new, lower front bumper fascia. We also think a set of new exhaust tips may be in the works since this prototype is sporting generic exhaust pipes.
