The finalists for the 2014 World Car of the Year awards have been announced at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

The finalists for the 2014 World Car of the Year awards have been announced at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

The WCOTY awards have reached their tenth anniversary and now the finalists for the 2014 titles have been announced, following a longer list published about a month ago. For the "World Car of the Year" title, the battle will be given between the Audi A3, BMW 4-Series and Mazda3.

Up next is the "World Luxury Car" where the three finalists are: Bentley Flying Spur, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the Range Rover Sport. There's also the "World Performance Car" category with the following finalists: Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3.

In addition, the jurors selected the Audi A3 Sportback g-tron, BMW i3 and the Volkswagen XL1 as the finalists for the "World Green Car" award. There will also be an award for "World Car Design of the Year" which will go to the BMW i3, Mazda3 or the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

All winners will be announced on April 17 during the New York Auto Show.
