AMG chief Tobias Moers has disclosed some spicy details about the upcoming Mercedes-Benz rival for the Porsche 911 codenamed "C190" (and rumored to receive AMG GT name).

In an interview given to Top Gear magazine, AMG's chief Tobias Moers said the upcoming Porsche 911 competitor will be equipped with a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine which won't be coupled to a manual transmission. In addition, he also said the model will be available exclusively with a rear-wheel drive layout and that later on during its lifespan there will be a range-topping Black Series version as well as "many, many more variants."

We remind you design chief Gorden Wagener said it will be "the most beautiful car" ever launched by Mercedes-Benz and will reportedly take styling cues from the 300 SL which triumphed in the 1952 Panamericana.

Based on most recent reports, the model will be unveiled online in September before making its public appearance in October at the Paris Motor Show. However, some people say it will be shown on July 20th during the 2014 Formula 1 German Grand Prix.
