Jaguar's baby sedan has been grabbed on camera for the first time wearing a production body.

Up until now spy photos showed us XS body mules looking like the XF but today we get the chance to see Jaguar's entry-level sedan fitted with the production body while testing on UK roads. Internally known as the X760, the new model will ride on the firm's iQ[Al] platform and will come with shorter front and rear overhangs along with a more compact body to go up against the BMW 3-Series, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and other similar models in this segment.

The spiritual successor of the X-Type will receive a generous engine family that will include a high-output unit enabling the model to reach a maximum speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). The British marque is also allegedly planning a frugal variant that will have less than 100 g/km of CO2 emissions.

The latest report refers to a summer reveal of the XS (name not confirmed) while deliveries are expected to commence at the beginning of 2015.
